Hi All!
I was diagnosed with manic depression in 2010, and then bi-polar in 2012. All my Dr’s now believe that if there had been better understanding of bi-polar and what to look for then I would probably have been diagnosed when I was 10 or 11 (1996).

Was it scary to hear the word bipolar? Hell Yes- I was petrified! What little I had heard about it was surrounding celebrities like¬†Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, and let’s face it the media dragged them through the ringer and only portrayed the extremes in their conditions (e.g. Britney shaving her head circa 2007).

Like anyone who is diagnosed I am sure the same questions buzz through your mind- what does this mean? why me? They must be wrong!? Does this make me crazy?

After years of only seeing the negative media around terms like “Bi-polar” and “Manic Depression” I want to show that – yes there are bad days, but you aren’t crazy, it is manageable, and it should never hold you back!
